Thankfully, my response to these choices has changed dramatically over the years. Now, instead of beating myself up or avoiding responsibility or numbing myself through unhealthy coping mechanisms (which were my habits of choice back in the day), I handle my mistakes with much more self-compassion and forgiveness.

Trying to fight or avoid the lessons in front of you only creates more suffering for yourself. Instead, choose to welcome what arises - pain, loss, grief, anger, loneliness, trauma, tragedy - as blessed teachers sent to elevate you and expand your capacity to Love. #bornebackceaselessly
