New Year’s Eve is, and always has been, my favorite holiday. Auld Lang Syne. The unequivocal reminder time is passing. We are overcome with a collective feeling of reflection and anticipation. A time of rebirth. A time of release. A time of hope.

We think back on all we accomplished - or didn’t - in the past year and look forward to new goals. We remember time spent with friends and family, or perhaps times we will no longer spend.

We feel connected to the world as we watch the celebrations march slowly around the globe. We feel connected to each other as we reach to embrace the ones next to us at midnight.
