Growth and healing is not linear. We advance and coast only to regress and fall in what feels like a perpetual dance between our ascended-future-self and our limited-past-self.

As I've been struggling to practice self-compassion in this moment, it helps to remember I had the wisdom back then. Circumstances and my pompous ego often drown it out; but truth always resides within me.
